BASE HINGED COLUMNS

The base hinged column range, from 4m to 12m, comprises three models designed to meet a range of applications, be it street lighting, floodlighting, CCTV or telecommunications.

The Abacus base hinged column has set the standard in operator safety and simplicity of operation since its introduction over 40 years ago. It is installed worldwide for its proven robust and long life characteristics.

Vandal Resistant

The light and medium duty columns offer particular vandal resistant characteristics, there being no access door to the inside. The protection equipment can only be accessed by lowering the column. As an option, a flush door can be ordered. A tamper-proof locking screw is now supplied as standard.

Now available in Aluminium and Stainless Steel!

Following demand from our customers, we are pleased to be able to offer both an aluminium and stainless steel version of our base hinged column.

Weighing in at just 34kg for the 5m aluminium column, this base hinged column offers the same maintenance advantages as its steel cousin.

In addition, the brushed finish gives an enhanced appearance with all the advantages offered by this material.

The stainless steel base hinged column is available in a standard or higher 316 marine grade material.

Paint Option

Abacus is pleased to offer its own in-house paint finish.

Our standard finish is an excellent two-pack acrylic spray finish easily comparable to a powder coat finish, but with the added benefit of being able to touch up damaged areas in the future.

Other spray paint finishes are available on request; a powder coating finish is also available.
